Today, we celebrate Epiphany. It’s easy to miss, because it’s traditionally celebrated on January 6, which isn’t always a Sunday. However, it’s a great time to meditate on the fact that the love of God is not reserved for a certain race or class or culture of people, but rather for all people of all time. No matter who we are, no matter what point in history we live in, no matter what we’ve done, we can be assured that our sins are forgiven because of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.
Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Isaiah 60:1-3
