No matter who we are, no matter what point in history we live in, no matter what we’ve done, we can be assured that our sins are forgiven because of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. Arise, shine, for your light ...
ALS faculty and staff wish you a happy new year filled with the Lord’s blessings, grace and peace. Numbers 6:24–26: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas filled with grace!

Merciful Father, Look with compassion on Tai Po and all affected by this tragic fire. Protect the firefighters, rescue workers, and all who are in danger. Bring healing to the injured, comfort to those who have lost loved ones, and peace to those who have been displaced. Grant wisdom to the authorities in dealing with this difficult situation. Even in this dark hour, let your light and love be known. We entrust all those affected to your care, through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. Amen.
Many cultures around the world celebrate an autumn holiday that centers on the harvest. In the United States, that holiday is Thanksgiving, which will be celebrated this Thursday. It is a special time to give thanks to God for the “harvest” of the past year and for another year of his grace. At Asia Lutheran Seminary, we are thankful for: What blessings from God are you thankful for this year?
